Garden Transformation & Lean-To Extension

A garden other companies wouldn't touch, rebuilt with retaining walls and drainage, plus a lean-to extension to the rear of the house.

Garden Transformation & Lean-To Extension

Project Story

The garden alone took roughly six weeks: we dug out a significant amount of spoil, set new levels, built the retaining walls, installed the fencing, and put in the drainage runs the boundary stream demanded. Getting the water management right was the part most builders had walked away from — without it, nothing else we built would have lasted.

With the retaining walls in, we moved onto the lean-to extension at the rear of the house. That took us about another six weeks, slowed at points by weather, but built without compromising the detailing. Once the structure was up we came back into the garden and flagged the patio area, working our way out from the house so every level tied in cleanly with the new extension threshold.

The finished result is a usable, properly drained garden and a lean-to that feels like it has always been part of the house — on a plot other trades had written off.

Client Review

We got in touch with Renex Construction after struggling to find a company willing and able to take on our project, as it was quite a large and complex job. Renex came out to assess the work and quickly provided detailed quotes and designs based on our ideas.

They talked everything through with us and even suggested a few improvements that really enhanced the final result. The project did take longer than originally planned, but this was entirely due to the winter weather, and whenever something didn't go quite to plan, it was reviewed and resolved promptly.

The work was completed to a very high standard, and any minor niggles were dealt with quickly and professionally. Caleb and his team were fantastic — professional, friendly, and easy to have around, even when the site was muddy and messy. They cleaned up both the work area and the surrounding street when they had finished, leaving everything looking amazing.

We have since asked Caleb back to carry out further work, and Renex will be my first call whenever we need anything done in future.
